
Billy Atkins

Billy Atkins is a Morgantown, WV attorney who earned his B.A. in History from Morris Harvey College (1967) and his J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law (1970). Over his legal career, he was a Partner at Furbee, Amos, Webb & Critchfield and later at Bowles Rice, LLP, serving as Of Counsel there through 2020. He has been active in the West Virginia State Bar, the American Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute, among others.
A dedicated community leader, Billy has served as charter President of Monongalia County Habitat for Humanity, Past President of the Greater Morgantown Community Trust, Past Chairman of both the Community Foundation of North Central West Virginia and the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce, and has volunteered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace and Pantry Plus More, among many other civic roles.
He and his wife, Dr. Carolyn Peluso Atkins, have been married 57 years and are the proud parents of two daughters.
