Dr. Jane Cardi, EDD

Board President

Jane is a native Ohioan but has lived in West Virginia since 1967. West Virginia has been home for her, her husband, and their three sons.

Jane completed her undergraduate degree at Ohio State University and her master's and doctoral degrees from West Virginia University. She has taught all her life. She retired from her position as assistant dean in the College of Education and Human Resources at West Virginia University in 2015.

Now Jane dedicates herself to painting and the renovation of the historic Morgantown post office building, as president of the Historic Morgantown Post Office Building (HPO). She has been working on this project since 2018 and is proud to say that the organization has saved the 1914 building from further disrepair and is ready to begin extensive renovations. When renovations are complete, the primary tenant of the building, The Monongalia Art Center (MAC), will be able to greatly expand its services to the community, Your Community Foundation of Northern West Virginia (YCF) will be able to move back into new office space on the second floor of the building, and the Morgantown History Museum will have a greatly improved facility in the Annex. Detailed plans are available for viewing, and tours of the building are ongoing for anyone interested.
