Patty Showers Ryan has served as President of the Your Community Foundation of North Central West Virginia, Inc. (YCF) since June 2016. In this role, she provides strategic leadership and oversees all aspects of the Foundation’s operations, working closely with donors, business professionals, community leaders, and volunteers to advance YCF’s mission.

Ms. Ryan earned her bachelor’s degree in business management from Colorado State University. Her professional background spans both corporate and nonprofit sectors in Colorado and Maryland before she returned to West Virginia in 2002.

Prior to joining YCF, Ms. Ryan spent 14 years with the West Virginia University Foundation, where she served as Director of Development for several schools, including Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Education. Her experience in fundraising and donor relations continues to inform her leadership at YCF.

As President, Ms. Ryan leads strategic and operational planning, oversees investment and financial management, and ensures effective stewardship of donor funds. She also guides the Foundation’s grantmaking and scholarship programs, supporting meaningful community impact through endowment distributions.

In 2026, Ms. Ryan serves as Board Chair of Philanthropy West Virginia and Treasurer of The Historic Morgantown Post Office Building.

She resides in Morgantown with her husband and two children. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys hiking, photography, and traveling, as well as attending her children’s activities.
